Ayr Flames Win North American International Silver Stick Bantam B Championship   The Ayr Bantam Rep team competed against qualifying teams from all over North America at the International Silver Stick Finals in Forest, Ontario on January 27-29, 2012.  In the round robin section, Ayr beat the Tampa Bay Raiders 9-0, dropped a 3-0 game to the Listowel Cyclones, and then beat the Richmond-West Carleton (Ottawa) Crusaders 4-2, to be seeded second overall for the elimination section of the tournament. In dramatic fashion, they beat the Wasaga Beach Stars 3-1 in the semi-finals, before edging the Strathroy Rockets 2-0 in the finals.

A tradition of over 50 years, all winners of the Silver Stick Finals are listed at the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto.   Most minor hockey players never have the opportunity to participate in an event such as this, but for 8 of these boys, this is an unprecedented third time for winning a Silver Stick, following wins in 2006 at the Mite/Novice level and 2008 at the Atom level:  Andrew Hart, William Lochner, Emmett Lund, Tyler Martin, Jack McFarlane, Brennen Moore, Matthew Pley and Nathan Tomaz.  Head Coach Brian Lund commented, "All of our players represented their community with passion, pride and class, winning over visiting fans from all over with our high tempo game, team-first approach, and never-say-die attitude."     Caption for photo Winning International#6FD999.jpg:  Ayr Captures Silver Stick   Front row, laying:  Owen Wing, Nicholas Gil Kneeling: Jacob Yates, Carson Bolger, Jarret Scott, Jack McFarlane Standing:  Head coach Brian Lund, Manager Mike Pley, Trainer Chase Hillenaar, Josh Woznica, Will Lochner, Nathan Tomaz, Emmett Lund, Liam Snyder, Damon Strong, Matthew Pley, Daniel Pennington, Tyler Martin, Brennen Moore, Andrew Hart, Asst.
