Hockey Day in Ayr
February 11 is HOCKEY DAY in CANADA.
The Ayr ROCKETS Girls Hockey Association will be building on that and hosting HOCKEY DAY in AYR, from 8-3 at the North Dumfries Community Center. The ROCKETS are in their second year of play and have grown to over 90 girls already. We want to give back to the community with this fun event for all the support they have been given to get rolling, and celebrate a great game with everyone in Ayr.
Hockey Memories
When adults look back on their hockey career, the biggest thing smile they about is the memories. Usually not about the winning or losing, but about the fun, the friends and the family they made along the way. The ROCKETS will be looking for those memories as well as memories already created by kids. They will be capturing video throughout the day of people telling their favorite hockey memory or why they love hockey.
Oldest Coat
We are in search of the oldest hockey coat you can find. Wear or bring your old hockey coat this day. We will be giving a $25 gift certificate to San Francisco's in Ayr, for the oldest coat of the day. We would encourage people to also wear their favorite or oldest hockey jersey for the day as well.
Game Faces
All players that come for games that day, both home and away, can have some Canada colours of face paint applied before the game (no cost). Non players are also encouraged to get their game face on.
Road Hockey tournament (10 - 2)
PeeWee and under welcome. Girls and boys. NO COST. Stick toss for Mini Tournaments by age groups start on the hour at 10, 11, 12 and 1. Each hour we will have a winning team and LOTS of fun. Good old road hockey the way it should be played, in the NDCC side parking lot.
